The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has announced that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Natalie Robyn, will be leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities outside of the FIA. Robyn has held the position since November 2022, when she became the first CEO as part of the FIA’s restructuring efforts. With a background in the automotive industry, including roles at Volvo, Nissan, and DaimlerChrysler, Robyn has decided to resign from her role after 18 months.
Reflecting on her time as CEO, Robyn expressed gratitude for the privilege of leading the FIA and overseeing its restructuring and reform. She believes that the organization is now better equipped to face the challenges ahead. Robyn takes pride in her contribution to the FIA’s transformation in both the sporting and mobility sectors and is confident in leaving behind a talented and dedicated team.
Robyn’s departure follows a series of notable exits from the FIA. Sporting Director Steve Nielsen and Technical Director Tim Goss stepped aside last year, and Deborah Maier chose not to extend her contract as the Head of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission Chief. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem acknowledged Robyn’s significant contributions to the organization’s operational and management structure, as well as its financial sustainability. He wished her well in her future endeavors on behalf of the FIA.
To fill the vacancies left by Nielsen and Goss, the FIA has appointed Jan Monchaux, former Technical Director at Alfa Romeo, to take over Goss’s responsibilities. Additionally, Tim Malyon, previously the FIA’s Safety Director, has been reassigned to the position of Sporting Director, which was vacated by Nielsen.
