Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner is currently under investigation following allegations of inappropriate conduct made by a female employee. The news has captured the attention of Formula 1 fans worldwide, overshadowing the upcoming 2024 season. While teams are busy preparing for the races, all eyes are on the impending announcement regarding the allegations against Horner.
Horner has been at the helm of Red Bull Racing since 2005 and has enjoyed great success during his tenure. The 50-year-old played a pivotal role in Red Bull’s domination of the F1 tracks from 2010 to 2013. Under his leadership, the team also achieved success in 2021, challenging the seven-time World Champion for the title.
However, Horner’s achievements have been tarnished by the misconduct allegations. A female employee lodged a complaint against him at the end of the 2023 season, leading to an internal investigation by Red Bull. Horner vehemently denied all charges, but reports suggest that he may have sent inappropriate text messages to the complainant.
After weeks of speculation, The Times has recently reported that an external barrister overseeing the case will exonerate Horner. This development comes as a surprise, considering earlier reports suggested the existence of substantial evidence against him.
Red Bull’s current World Champion, Max Verstappen, has a close relationship with Horner, having been with the team since 2016. Verstappen, who has won three Formula One titles under Horner’s leadership, appeared dismissive when approached for comment on the investigation. He remains focused on his goal of securing a fourth World Championship title, aiming to equal the record set by Red Bull legend Sebastian Vettel between 2010 and 2013.
Despite the ongoing allegations against his Team Principal, Verstappen is determined to perform exceptionally well for Red Bull in the upcoming season. His sights are firmly set on victory, refusing to let the controversy distract him from his pursuit of success.
