Toyota GAZOO Racing, a Japanese-German manufacturer, is looking to enhance their tire warm-up in the FIA World Endurance Championship, according to Mike Conway, a member of the team. Conway acknowledged that other teams, such as Porsche Penske and Ferrari, have discovered a method to quickly activate their tires, something Toyota has yet to fully grasp. He expressed the team’s determination to improve in this area. During the qualifying session at the 6 Hours of Imola, Kamui Kobayashi secured the sixth position for the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, while Brendon Hartley achieved the eighth fastest time in the sister #8 Toyota. Conway also mentioned that the WEC tire regulations play a role in this matter. With limited tire options available, teams are forced to stick to a single choice, making tire warm-up crucial. Despite this challenge, Toyota remains committed to finding a solution.
