Heading into the 2024 NASCAR Cup season, Trackhouse Racing’s driver was under scrutiny. After a disappointing 2023 season where he failed to win any races, there were rumors that Suarez would be replaced if he didn’t perform well.
Daniel Suarez has now put an end to all those rumors by impressively winning the Atlanta Cup race. In a thrilling three-car photo finish, he crossed the finish line 0.003 seconds ahead of his competitors to claim his second-ever victory in the NASCAR Cup series. This win showcased his skill as he navigated the last two corners of the race without any assistance.
Numerous drivers and figures in the NASCAR community have praised Suarez for his milestone win, including NASCAR Hall of Famer. In a post on X, he congratulated Suarez and commended his mental toughness. He also noted the exciting finish to the race.
Congrats @Daniel_SuarezG Well deserved. The mental gymnastics and toughness to get through that entire event and put the finishing moves together was so impressive. #NASCAR
Upon seeing the praise from the legendary NASCAR driver on X, the Trackhouse Racing driver responded promptly. Suarez thanked Junior, whom he considers a friend, for his kind words. He wrote, “Thank you my friend.”
Saurez has secured his spot in the 2024 playoffs and now aims to capitalize on this momentum by achieving a few more victories before the regular season concludes. He has the opportunity to make this his best Cup season yet.
Thank you my friend 🙏🏽
Additionally, Suarez can use this accomplishment as leverage to negotiate another multi-year contract extension with Trackhouse. If he maintains his current form, the 2024 season could be a defining moment in his career as a Mexican driver.
