Lewis Hamilton’s surprising move to Ferrari in 2025 has caught the attention of many drivers.
Daniel Ricciardo is currently not occupied with pondering his future in Formula 1, despite swirling rumors connecting him to a potential switch to Mercedes for the 2025 season.
Ricciardo is among the drivers being discussed as a possible replacement for Lewis Hamilton in the upcoming season.
However, it is widely expected that Ricciardo will stay with the Red Bull team, especially given Helmut Marko’s statement that Ricciardo is “not available” for a move to Mercedes.
There is speculation that Ricciardo may consider reuniting with Max Verstappen at Red Bull, especially if Sergio Perez underperforms.
Addressing the rumors about his future, Ricciardo spoke after the unveiling of Visa Cash App RB’s 2024 F1 car.
“At this stage of my career, I’m not looking too far ahead,” Ricciardo commented. “Looking ahead feels like getting closer to the end. So, it’s more important for me to stay focused on the present and take each race as it comes.”
He acknowledged Mercedes’ position, stating, “They are not in a rush, so they will assess everyone’s performance, the driver market, and so on. It’s a sensible approach for them to take.”
Ricciardo also expressed satisfaction with not being caught up in the frenzied speculation of the “silly season,” especially at this early stage of the season.

While maintaining a sense of ambition, Ricciardo emphasized the importance of being realistic, saying, “You have to set high goals, but after being in this sport for so long, you also have to manage expectations to avoid potential disappointment.”
He outlined his objectives, aiming for top-five finishes and potential podium appearances, recognizing the progress made last season and striving to build on it further.
Ricciardo remains optimistic about the possibilities, stating, “I believe achieving top-five finishes is possible, perhaps even in the first half of the season.”
