Antonio Fuoco of Ferrari AF Corse was the fastest in the first practice session for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. He achieved a time of 2:05.690 while driving the #50 Ferrari 499P. His teammate and fellow Italian, Antonio Giovinazzi, came in second with a time of 2:06.831 in the #51 Ferrari. The #63 Lamborghini Iron Lynx, driven by Daniil Kvyat, took third place, just 0.167 seconds slower than Giovinazzi. Mick Schumacher, driving the #36 Alpine A424, finished fourth, only 0.022 seconds behind Kvyat. Yifei Ye in the #83 AF Corse Ferrari secured fifth place with a time of 2:07.087. The sixth, seventh, and eighth positions were occupied by three Porsche 963s, with Neel Jani in the #99 Proton Porsche leading the pack. The leading Peugeot, driven by Nico Muller in the #93, came in ninth, while Paul-Loup Chatin in the #35 Alpine rounded out the top ten. There were no major incidents during the session, only a few local yellow flags for minor spins and track excursions. In the LMGT3 category, Daniel Juncadella in the #82 TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3R set the fastest time of 2:20.855. Davide Rigon in the #54 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 finished second, 0.335 seconds behind Juncadella. Daniel Mancinelli in the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 took third place, a further 0.15 seconds behind Rigon. The second practice session, FP2, will commence at 5:30pm local time.
