Ferrari has introduced its Sport Prototipi Clienti program, showcasing the Ferrari 499P Modificata, at an exclusive event in Mugello for the Italian automaker’s affluent clientele.
The Ferrari 499P Modificata is an unrestrained variant of the vehicle that competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Without the need to adhere to regulations, such as the Hypercar version of the 499P, the hybrid battery and motor can unleash their full power. Combined with the V6 internal combustion engine, this grants the car a total power output of 870hp, surpassing the version that complies with Hypercar regulations.
The significance lies in the Sport Prototipi Clienti program. Ferrari’s affluent customers have the opportunity to acquire a 499P Modificata. However, similar to Ferrari’s XX program for their road cars, customers are not allowed to take the car home. Instead, Ferrari will dictate when and where the car can be driven, providing all necessary resources for track usage, including engineers, spare parts, and tires.
The program will officially debut at Mugello, alongside the F1 Clienti and XX Program, which share a calendar with Sport Prototipi Clienti. This allows Ferrari’s “clients” to experience a range of cars during the three-day event, from March 14th to March 17th.
Subsequently, the three programs will venture to the United States, visiting Sonoma and Laguna Seca on May 12-13th and May 17-19th, respectively. They will then return to Hungary for the new Balaton circuit on June 5-7th, followed by a trip to Japan’s Suzuka on June 28-30th. The journey continues in Europe, with stops at Paul Ricard in France on July 31st to August 1st and Nürburgring in Germany on September 6-8th. Finally, the programs will conclude in Italy at the Finali Mondiali, Ferrari’s celebration of the racing season, in Imola on October 16-20th.
