Ahead of the Monaco ePrix this weekend, Formula E announced that their latest car, the net zero car, will have impressive speed capabilities. It will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.82 seconds (0-100kph in 1.86 seconds), which is 30% faster than a current F1 car. Additionally, it will have a top speed of 200mph when it is introduced in season 11.
Not only is the net zero car fast, but it is also the most efficient formula car to date. Its electric motor will provide over 90% efficiency, a significant improvement compared to the typical 40% efficiency of internal combustion engines.
Jeff Dodds, the CEO of the Formula E series, expressed his excitement about the GEN3 Evo, stating that it marks a groundbreaking chapter in the evolution of Formula E. He emphasized the series’ dedication to innovation and sustainable high performance.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the president of the FIA, the governing body of motorsport, praised the net zero car for its advancements in electric racing technology. He sees it as another significant leap forward for the sport.
In addition to its speed and efficiency, the net zero car will also be Formula E’s first car to have four-wheel drive. This feature will be active during qualifying and race starts, providing an additional advantage. The car will also have stronger and more robust bodywork, ensuring durability during races.
