Two individuals who wager on sports were able to make a profit from the commencement of the Knicks-Nets matchup after an NBA2K simulation accurately forecasted the initial scorer for each team and the method by which the basket would be made.
Both bettors had odds of nearly 10/1 or higher, resulting in an extraordinary return on their investment.
The social media team for Bleacher Report Betting shared the video footage of the simulated game between Brooklyn and New York, in which the Knicks swiftly took a 3-0 lead thanks to a three-pointer by Donte DiVincenzo.
The Nets quickly responded with a three-pointer by Cameron Johnson.
Armed with this information, the gamblers placed bets on the first scorer for each team and the type of basket made for the first score.
In all four instances, the wagers were successful, although the actual game did not unfold exactly as the video game predicted. Despite the Nets scoring first, it did not affect the outcome of these wagers.
The bets included Cam Johnson as the first scorer for the Nets with odds of +950, a three-pointer by Cam Johnson as the first basket for the Nets with odds of +1900, Donte DiVincenzo as the first scorer for the Knicks with odds of +1200, and a three-pointer by Donte DiVincenzo as the first basket for the Knicks with odds of +2100.
The bettors placed a mere $5 on each bet, resulting in a total payout of $317.50 and a profit of $297.50.
It is likely that they now regret not wagering a larger amount.
This is not the first instance of bettors utilizing video game simulations to predict future outcomes. Madden has been a popular tool for gamblers attempting to construct parlays during the NFL season, and in some cases, they have been successful.
Time will tell if this duo will continue to experience similar triumphs.
