Charles Leclerc has only managed two top-three finishes compared to Carlos Sainz’s three this season. The 2024 Formula 1 season is underway with four Grand Prix races already completed. Leclerc has emerged as the early leader for the Ferrari team, while his teammate Sainz has struggled to keep up. Currently, Leclerc is ahead of Sainz in the Drivers Championship by just four points. It is worth noting that Sainz missed the Saudi Arabian GP due to appendicitis.
Leclerc has openly admitted that Sainz has outperformed him this year and has praised his teammate’s skills in the SF-24. Leclerc has achieved two podium finishes so far, while Sainz has managed three. Despite the praise, Leclerc is determined to perform well during the Chinese Grand Prix weekend. The SF-24 is consistently improving, and Leclerc wants to maximize its potential on the Shanghai International Circuit, which is expected to suit the Ferrari challenger.
With 20 more races remaining in the season, Leclerc will have plenty of opportunities to catch up to Sainz. However, considering Sainz’s impressive performance this year, it will not be an easy task for Leclerc to surpass him.
