GasGas Tech3 rider Daniel Holgado emerged victorious in the Moto3 Portuguese race, narrowly beating Ajo KTM’s Jose Antonio Rueda by a mere 0.044s. Ivan Ortola of MT Helmets – MSI secured third place on the podium, a significant improvement from his ninth-place finish in Qatar. Despite leading at various stages of the race, David Alonso, the previous race winner in Qatar, was forced to settle for fourth place due to tire issues on his CFMoto Aspar machine. The race was marred by an early collision between Ryusei Yamanaka and Angel Piqueras, resulting in their premature exit. The rest of the race followed the typical Moto3 pattern, with a closely contested battle for victory among Holgado, Rueda, Ortola, and Alonso. Ultimately, Rueda relinquished his lead to a jubilant Alonso in a thrilling drag race to the finish line. Joel Kelso and Collin Veijer finished fifth and sixth, separated by a mere 0.019s, showcasing their fierce determination. Stefano Nepa claimed seventh place, followed by rookie Joel Esteban and David Muñoz. The Leopard Racing team had a disappointing race, with Adrian Fernandez finishing in tenth place. With 45 points, Holgado currently leads the championship, followed closely by Alonso with 38 points. Ortola sits in third place with 23 points.
