Red Bull Racing’s Team Principal and CEO, Christian Horner, is currently under investigation by the company for alleged misconduct towards a female colleague. The story has garnered significant attention since it first broke, with reports describing the behavior as “aggressive and controlling”. Subsequent reports have revealed that the misconduct in question is of a sexual nature.
Despite the ongoing investigation, Horner has vehemently denied the rumors and has continued to fulfill his duties at Red Bull Racing. He has maintained that it is “business as usual” for him, displaying a commitment to his role despite the acknowledged and respected investigation process.
Recently, Horner attended the launch of Red Bull’s 2020 F1 car, the RB20, and participated in the three days of pre-season testing in Bahrain. The performance of the RB20, driven by Max Verstappen, indicated that it could be the dominant car for yet another season.
While Formula One Management has urged Red Bull to swiftly conclude the investigation, Ford, Red Bull’s engine partners for 2026, have also called for transparency. It was reported that the Austrian company intended to reveal the investigation results prior to the season opener in Bahrain.
However, it has now been revealed that Horner, who is still unaware of the investigation’s outcome, is en route to Bahrain. This decision to travel before the results are disclosed is noteworthy, as an independent investigator is conducting the investigation.
Craig Slater of Sky Sports F1 reported from Bahrain, stating, “What I can disclose is that Christian Horner is currently en route to Bahrain. He is on his way here. Additionally, I can confirm that he is unaware of the resolution of the investigation into the allegations of misconduct made against him by a female staff member.”
Horner’s arrival in Bahrain without knowledge of the investigation’s conclusion aligns with his previous stance of conducting “business as usual” and his denial of the allegations. He remains committed to his job and intends to continue fulfilling his responsibilities.
It is expected that Horner will arrive in Bahrain this evening. However, it remains uncertain whether the investigation’s outcome will be revealed at the same time. Previous reports indicated that an announcement would be made before the start of the season, but the timing remains uncertain, as Slater concluded his report.
