The NTT IndyCar Series has officially confirmed that the reality TV show ‘100 Days to Indy’ will be returning for a second season this spring. This highly anticipated series will once again consist of six episodes, providing viewers with an inside look at the drivers’ preparations leading up to ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.’
A dedicated production crew will be following the most captivating storylines of the year, including the pursuit of a second victory by Josef Newgarden and the impressive performances of Marcus Ericsson, who finished first and second in the last two events. Additionally, NASCAR champion Kyle Larson will be making his debut in the Indy 500 with Arrow McLaren and will also attempt to participate in the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.
Mark Miles, the President & CEO of Penske Entertainment, expressed his excitement, stating, “The Indy 500 offers an unparalleled level of excitement and adrenaline. The CW will once again provide viewers with a front row seat as the charismatic stars of the NTT IndyCar Series strive for racing glory. This promises to be an exhilarating journey and an incredibly captivating experience for audiences across the nation.”
In the 2024 season, the Indy 500 will once again be the sixth race on the calendar, following an exhibition round with a remarkable $1 million prize on March 24. As a result, the show will roughly follow this timeline, with each episode focusing on a specific race weekend leading up to the highly anticipated 500. The production team aims to release most of the episodes before the Indy 500, which is scheduled to take place on May 26. The final episode will provide an in-depth coverage of the iconic race itself.
Brad Schwartz, the President of Entertainment at The CW Network, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “We are delighted to bring another season of ‘100 Days to Indy’ to The CW and expand our collection of high-quality sports programming. Last season provided fans with an unprecedented glimpse into the lives and preparations of these incredible drivers, making it even more thrilling when Josef Newgarden, one of the series’ stars, emerged as the winner of last year’s Indy 500. We eagerly anticipate another season of intense competition among these talented drivers and a plethora of high-speed racing action.”
Fans of the show will be pleased to know that season one of ‘100 Days to Indy’ will soon be available for streaming on the Paramount+ platform, starting on February 16.
