Jose Mourinho has revealed his predictions for the winners of the Premier League and Champions League this season. In addition, he has expressed his preference for one of his previous teams to come out on top in the current campaign. Despite being unemployed since his departure from Roma in January, Mourinho remains a prominent figure in football discussions, with his career often overshadowed by the notorious third-season syndrome.
During an appearance on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel, he engaged viewers in conversations about his near future, the difficulties of reshaping the Manchester United dressing room, and his favorite midfielder from England’s golden generation. Adding to the mix, he also shared his confident forecasts for both the Premier League and Champions League outcomes.
Mourinho stated:
“I would be thrilled if Real Madrid could win it again for the club and for Carlo [Ancelotti]. I’m not sure, Bayern Munich might be able to do it, Paris Saint-Germain as well.
“When it comes to potential, I believe City/Liverpool will be contenders for the Premier League, and City/Real for the Champions League.”
In terms of domestic competitions, he briefly considered Manchester City and Liverpool before ultimately putting his faith in Pep Guardiola’s team. It would have been difficult for Mourinho to support former clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea in the Champions League, as they are not participating and their prospects in the English top flight are not promising either.
