Kyle Busch, the most successful driver in NASCAR history, holds the record for the most race wins across all three national series. Recently, Netflix released a captivating docu-series called NASCAR: Full Speed, which has gained immense popularity and has become one of the top 10 streamed shows in North America, Australia, and parts of Europe. This series provides an authentic and entertaining glimpse into the lives of NASCAR’s biggest stars.
One of the drivers who received significant attention in the series was Joe Gibbs Racing’s own. He and his family graciously opened their doors to the Netflix cameras, offering fans an exclusive and intimate experience. Other notable drivers, such as the reigning champion Ryan Blaney, also had their moments in the spotlight. Additionally, Hamlin’s drivers and the 2021 Cup champion were prominently featured throughout the series.
However, some fan favorites like the 2020 Cup champion, the 2012 champion, and the two-time Cup winner did not make an appearance in the show. The selection process for drivers was based on their marketability and their willingness to invest time in the docu-series.
During a press conference attended by Busch, Blaney, and Joey Logano, Busch was asked about the series. Despite having limited screen time compared to the Penske duo, Busch couldn’t help but make light-hearted jokes about it. Blaney responded with humor, expressing his enjoyment of watching Busch in the series. Both drivers agreed that the show has been beneficial for the sport and will attract more fans.
Prior to the Clash race, Busch, who owns and drives for RFK Racing, revealed that he was not approached to be featured in the docu-series. However, he understood that not everyone could be included in the first season and remained hopeful for an opportunity to contribute in the second season.
As predicted by Brad Keselowski, the second season of the series may provide fans with a chance to delve into the lives of their favorite drivers who were not featured in the initial season. It is highly unlikely that the 2024 edition of the series would exclude drivers like Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch, unless these drivers choose not to participate.
