Kyle Busch had an exceptional performance in his most recent race at Dover during the 2024 NASCAR Cup season. This season has been a nightmare for the two-time Cup champion, who is nearing the end of his career in the top division. After a significant decline in form in the second half of his previous season with Richard Childress Racing, his hopes of redemption have been shattered as the team struggles to stay in the top-10.
After 11 races in the 2024 season, Kyle Busch has only managed to secure four top-10 finishes. Unfortunately, he has finished 20th or worse in six races. As a result, both he and the No:8 Chevy Camero team have faced a lot of criticism for their performance. In a recent social media post thanking fans for their birthday wishes, Busch indirectly addressed his critics by highlighting his race win record.
“I may be getting older, but at least the number of trophies will always surpass the number of candles on my birthday cake. Thank you for the birthday wishes, everyone!”
Although the RCR team showed significant progress in the last race at Dover, starting on pole position and finishing in 4th place, it is disappointing for the driver’s fans considering Busch had already achieved two race wins at the same time last season. Looking ahead to the upcoming race week at Kansas, Busch expressed his excitement, stating that they currently have good momentum. Rather than solely hoping for a win, he is focused on having a strong day and a solid finish, which would help extend their positive run.
The pole win and top-5 finish at Dover provided a major confidence boost for RCR. However, they still have a lot of work to do in order to return to their winning ways. Busch’s poor form has put him in a difficult situation, as he finds himself fighting alone. RCR needs to resolve the chaos in the garage and make some tough decisions in order to return to victory lane.
