IMSA has officially unveiled the participant list for the upcoming 12 Hours of Sebring, set to take place on 16 March. This highly anticipated sportscar endurance race will feature a total of 58 competitors across four different categories. One of the highlights of the event will be the GTP debut of Lamborghini Iron Lynx, adding even more excitement to the race.
In the GTP category, Lamborghini will be fielding their SC63 LMDh for the second round of their Endurance Cup campaign. This single #63 GTP will be driven by factory drivers Matteo Cairoli, Andrea Caldarelli, and Romain Grosjean, making its North American debut. They will be up against 10 other GTP entries, promising a thrilling competition.
The GTP category will also feature Matt Campbell, who will continue as the Endurance Cup driver in the #7 Porsche Penske 963 entry. Campbell previously emerged victorious in the 24 Hours of Daytona season-opener in January, making him a strong contender for the upcoming race.
In LMP2, all 13 entries from the Daytona 24 will be competing, including the Sean Creech Motorsport #33 Ligier JS P217. Despite a challenging start at the opener, which led to their retirement, the team is determined to make a comeback at Sebring. They will be going up against 12 Oreca 07 LMP2s, including the #18 Era Motorsport, which triumphed in its category at Daytona.
DragonSpeed and the #11 TDS Racing Oreca crew have yet to confirm their Bronze drivers, who will join their respective teams alongside Malthe Jakobsen, Rasmus Lindh, Mikkel Jensen, and Hunter McElrea. These additions will further strengthen their line-ups and increase their chances of success.
The GTD Pro category will showcase 12 entries from nine different manufacturers. Among them, the Chevrolet Z06 GT3.Rs, Ford Multimatic Mustang GT3s, and Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2s from Iron Lynx will be the ones to watch. The #60 Lamborghini, in particular, will feature Leonardo Pulcini, Matteo Cressoni, and Claudio Schiavoni as teammates, adding to the excitement of the race.
Lastly, the GTD category will have the highest number of competitors, with 22 entries. This promises a highly competitive and action-packed race, as drivers from various teams battle it out for victory.
