IndyCar hit the IMS road course on Friday afternoon for the second practice of the Sonsio Grand Prix weekend.
A brief 45-minute session allowed drivers to further refine their setups before qualifying later in the day.
In the final minutes of the session, Will Power placed his Team Penske Chevy in the top position with a time of 1:09.6899, appearing to secure the fastest lap of the day.
However, Christian Lundgaard surpassed him, completing a lap in 1:09.5588, just over a tenth of a second faster than his competitors.
Scott Dixon achieved the third fastest time, showcasing his usual pace and indicating his readiness to compete throughout the weekend.
Scott McLaughlin and Felix Rosenqvist claimed the fourth and fifth spots on the timesheet respectively, continuing their strong start to the 2024 season.
Graham Rahal and Marcus Armstrong, who had both replaced their engines between practice sessions, were able to participate in the full 45-minute practice.
Rahal finished ninth on the charts, while Armstrong performed even better, placing his #11 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda in seventh position.
Only one red flag was raised during this session, compared to the three in the previous practice, as Jack Harvey found himself stuck in the grass.
Harvey spun his Dale Coyne Racing Honda at the exit of Turn 10 and required assistance from the AMR safety crew to resume.
A few other drivers spun on the same curbing, but Harvey was the only one in need of external aid to continue.
Knockout qualifying for the Sonsio Grand Prix will take place later in the afternoon, with the first round commencing at 4:20 PM, concluding a busy day on the 2.44-mile road course.
