The Miami Marlins are set to add right-handed pitcher Darren McCaughan to their roster in a deal with the Seattle Mariners. According to Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald, the Marlins will acquire McCaughan in exchange for an undisclosed amount of cash. In order to make room for McCaughan on the 40-man roster, outfielder Peyton Burdick will be designated for assignment, as reported by Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. McCaughan, who will celebrate his 28th birthday next month, has seen limited action in the MLB, pitching a total of 14 innings across two seasons with the Mariners. During this time, the Long Beach State alum has given up 13 runs. Stay tuned for further updates on this transaction.
