Red Bull Racing unveiled their new F1 car, RB20, at their headquarters in Milton Keynes, England. The launch of the car had been highly anticipated due to the investigation involving the team’s principal. The media was eager to learn more about the situation and its impact on the team, especially with Horner present at the event.
Christian Horner is currently being investigated following allegations of inappropriate and controlling behavior made by a female employee. Horner has denied all accusations and expressed his commitment to Red Bull’s future.
The current World Champion has refrained from making any statements regarding the investigation since it became public. In fact, he and his PR team took the additional step of informing the media ahead of a press conference in the Netherlands that Verstappen would not be answering any questions about Horner or the investigation.
Despite this announcement, the media managed to find a different approach to inquire about the distractions Verstappen may have faced amidst the turmoil. Verstappen responded by confirming that he does not believe it will cause any issues and that his focus remains on the 2024 season.
Red Bull is fully focused on securing their fourth victory with the new RB20. The Chief designer is optimistic about the upcoming season in Bahrain, where teams will test their new race cars. According to him, the RB20 is an improvement in all aspects compared to its predecessors. Red Bull currently expects Verstappen to win his fourth world championship. However, Verstappen is not particularly interested in breaking his own record once again.
Verstappen believes that only time will reveal if they will be successful this year. For him, it is more important that they have a strong start and that he quickly becomes familiar with the new car. In the meantime, the world champion is eagerly anticipating his first real experience with the RB20.
