Callum Ilott has been confirmed as the driver for Arrow McLaren at the upcoming IndyCar event. He will be behind the wheel of the #6 entry on the streets of St. Petersburg, replacing David Malukas who is recovering from a wrist injury sustained while mountain biking. While it was widely expected that Ilott would be taking over the car, the official announcement was made just today. With two years of IndyCar experience with Juncos Hollinger Racing, Ilott brings a strong chance for Arrow McLaren to achieve a good result until their signed driver is fully recovered. In the previous season, Ilott secured two top-five finishes and consistently placed his car in the top half of the field. Additionally, he recently helped his Jota Sport team secure second place overall in the opening round of the WEC. This aligns well with his schedule, allowing him to return to the United States for a substitute drive in IndyCar. While the exact timeline for Malukas’ recovery is uncertain, it is expected that he will be ready in time for the Long Beach event in April, where he can finally make his debut for Arrow McLaren.
