NBA legend Michael Jordan is ecstatic after Tyler Reddick’s triumphant win at Talladega. This is the first time Jordan, the co-owner of 23XI Racing, has witnessed his team’s success in person since taking on the role. He had missed the team’s previous five wins, which were achieved by other drivers. However, at Talladega, he finally had the opportunity to experience the thrill of victory.
Reddick’s victory was particularly impressive as he took advantage of a late-race crash involving other drivers. This win marks the first for 23XI Racing in the 2024 season. It is also Reddick’s third career win with the TRD team and his first win at a Superspeedway, making it a significant achievement for the former Xfinity Series champion.
After the race, Michael Jordan spoke to the media and mentioned how his co-owner Denny Hamlin had always jokingly blamed him for their bad luck on race days. However, Jordan is now pleased to have proven Hamlin wrong and to have witnessed firsthand the victorious celebrations that his team has been talking about.
Jordan compared the atmosphere at Talladega to that of an NBA playoff game. He enjoyed the support from the fans and found the experience of winning against the odds and challenging established teams to be truly inspiring. Jordan also commended the efforts of the 23XI crew in securing the victory.
The former Chicago Bulls star is clearly overjoyed with the win and finally being able to witness it himself. He is hopeful that both Reddick and Bubba Wallace will continue to achieve more victories in the 2024 season.
