Returning to the Formula 1 schedule for the first time in two years, the weekend in China provided noteworthy discussion points as Max Verstappen and Red Bull showcased their supremacy with a commanding triumph.
McLaren and Lando Norris were pleasantly surprised by their second-place finish, as they did not expect their car to be well-suited for the Shanghai circuit. However, they were proven wrong as Lando performed admirably, finishing just behind Max. Sergio Perez, qualifying in second place on Saturday in his formidable RBR20, could only manage a third-place finish on Sunday after losing a position on the opening lap and struggling to catch up thereafter.
Fernando Alonso also impressed for Aston Martin, pulling off an incredible save and delivering yet another passionate performance as a seasoned veteran. In stark contrast, Lance Stroll had an abysmal outing in the team’s other car.
Mercedes also had a disappointing showing, although to a lesser extent, as Lewis Hamilton and George Rissell struggled to make significant progress with a below-par package.
