Oliver Bearman’s impressive performance at the Saudi Arabian GP caught the attention of the entire Formula 1 community. Despite being called up on short notice, Bearman drove exceptionally well and secured a commendable P7 finish. His performance was widely praised by everyone on the grid. However, Nico Hulkenberg has expressed caution regarding the 18-year-old’s future.
Bearman’s debut in Formula 1 generated a lot of buzz, with Mercedes’ team members particularly impressed by his skills. Many believed that he could potentially join the Haas F1 Team in the future. Hulkenberg, however, believes it is too early to determine if Bearman poses a threat to his own position or that of others at Haas.
Hulkenberg emphasized the importance of Bearman’s performance in Formula 2, stating that it is equally significant as his debut in the pinnacle of motorsport. He mentioned that if Bearman fails to make an impact in F2, his impressive drive at the Saudi Arabian GP may be easily forgotten. This puts additional pressure on the young driver.
The majority of the grid praised Oliver Bearman for his performance, with Hulkenberg noting that he is a Ferrari junior. Hulkenberg believes that if Bearman continues to excel in F2, he will definitely have a chance to make it to Formula 1.
Hulkenberg also acknowledged that Bearman had the advantage of being in the second fastest car on the grid, which made it challenging for drivers in the middle order to compete against him.
Bearman’s stint in Formula 1 has come to an end as he will return to his Ferrari challenger. Despite his absence, Ferrari has maintained its lead against Mercedes and McLaren, showing significant improvement from last year. It remains to be seen how rival teams will fare against the top two teams in the constructors’ championship.
