Chip Ganassi Racing’s reigning NTT IndyCar Series champion, Alex Palou, will be making his inaugural appearance at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Palou will be joining the team as part of their factory Cadillac Racing hybrid GTP program. Expressing his excitement, Palou stated that participating and winning at Le Mans has always been a dream of his, considering it one of the most prestigious races alongside the Indianapolis 500 and Daytona.
Palou will be taking the wheel of CGR’s FIA World Endurance Championship No. 2 Cadillac V-Series.R at Circuit de la Sarthe, replacing Richard Westbrook who has moved to JDC-Miller Motorsports. With his eyes set on victory, Palou is thrilled to be back in the Cadillac alongside Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn, who achieved success at Le Mans last year. Given their recent strong performance at Daytona, Palou can’t wait to compete and hopefully secure a win at Le Mans.
CGR’s IMSA program will also be represented at Le Mans with the No. 3 Cadillac. This entry will be piloted by four-time Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais, six-time IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon, and sports car champion Renger van der Zande. CGR operations director Mike O’Gara expressed the team’s honor in representing Cadillac Racing at Le Mans with their two Cadillac V-Series.R racecars. He highlighted their third and fourth-place finishes in 2023 as evidence of their readiness to compete on the world stage. O’Gara further emphasized their commitment to refining the V-Series.R over the past year and their determination to compete for the overall win at Circuit de la Sarthe in June. He also acknowledged the privilege of having the best drivers and crew in the world representing the Cadillac brand in this significant motorsport event.
