Liverpool’s hunt for a new manager is well underway and one of their potential candidates will be allowed to depart from his current club at the conclusion of the season. Jurgen Klopp shocked the football world last month by announcing his departure from Anfield after an incredibly successful nine-year tenure on Merseyside. As a result, Liverpool’s management team is unexpectedly tasked with finding a replacement, and Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton is one of the names on their radar. The Daily Mail’s Tom Collomosse reports that Brighton is prepared for De Zerbi’s potential exit, meaning that if Liverpool were to make contact with the 44-year-old, there is a strong possibility that he could become their next manager.

While Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso is considered the frontrunner to replace Klopp at Liverpool, given his history at Anfield, the Spanish coach is highly sought after and may choose to remain at the BayArena if he secures the Bundesliga title and other trophies this season. De Zerbi, on the other hand, is also a desirable candidate and would be an excellent fit for Liverpool. With previous experience in the Premier League and a personality that aligns with Klopp’s, the Italian manager could potentially thrive in the role. The search for a new Liverpool manager is far from over, but it appears that De Zerbi is a viable option for the Reds.
