Red Bull has unveiled its 2024 Formula 1 car, the RB20, in hopes of maintaining its championship-winning streak for the upcoming season. Since the reintroduction of ground effect aero in 2022, Red Bull has dominated the competition, winning 39 out of 44 races and securing consecutive championship doubles. Last season, they took their competitive advantage to new heights, achieving a record-breaking 21 victories out of 22 rounds and clinching the title with six rounds remaining. Max Verstappen, who claimed 19 of those wins, including an unprecedented 10 in a row, will continue to lead the team for his fourth season alongside Sergio Perez. Perez, who faced challenges during the previous campaign, aims to bounce back and contribute to Red Bull’s success.
Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner, confirmed that the RB20 represents an evolution of their previous dominant car, the RB19. Prior to the launch at their Milton Keynes base, the RB20 underwent a shakedown at Silverstone, with both Verstappen and Perez taking turns behind the wheel. Horner expressed the significance of this year for the team, highlighting Red Bull’s history of reshaping Formula One and their commitment to pushing boundaries and competing for the sport’s top honors. With seven Drivers’ titles, six Constructors’ Championship wins, and 113 race victories, Red Bull’s success speaks for itself. Horner is confident that the RB20, combined with the exceptional driving skills of Verstappen and Perez, will enable the team to continue their podium finishes, victories, and hopefully secure more championships in the future.
