Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo of the RB team showcased his skills in the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix Sprint race, finishing in fourth place. Ricciardo capitalized on Sergio Perez’s unsuccessful attempt to overtake Charles Leclerc at the start, securing third place at Turn 1 and maintaining his position during the deployment of the Safety Car. Although Perez managed to pass him on the restart, Ricciardo successfully defended his position against Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, earning his first points of the 2024 season. After a challenging start to the year, Ricciardo expressed his satisfaction in competing at the front and facing off against a Ferrari. He described the experience as “awesome” and took pride in holding off Sainz every lap. As the race neared its conclusion, Ricciardo realized that victory was within reach. Despite scorching track temperatures in Miami, he pushed himself to the limit, leaving nothing in reserve to prevent Sainz from launching an attack. Ricciardo commended his team’s efforts, acknowledging the obstacles they had overcome to reach this point. He also expressed his pleasure in reminding people of his capabilities on the track.
