Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing is welcoming back their most recent champion of the Indianapolis 500 for the upcoming month of May. Takuma Sato, who secured victory in the Indy 500 in 2017 representing Andretti Global and again in 2020 for RLL, will be driving the team’s fourth Honda-powered car alongside Graham Rahal, Christian Lundgaard, and Pietro Fittipaldi.
“I am absolutely delighted to announce my return to the 108th Indy 500 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing,” expressed Sato. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Bobby Rahal, Mike Lanigan, David Letterman, and the entire organization for this incredible opportunity. Sato also expressed his gratitude for the primary sponsorship from AMADA, and his excitement to be driving the No. 75 entry. Having been a part of the RLL team for over ten years, Sato is filled with immense excitement to reconnect with familiar faces and build new connections. He eagerly awaits the start of his work.
Lanigan, a strong supporter of the experienced Japanese driver, is hopeful for a return to victory lane at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. “We are thrilled to have Takuma back with the team for the Indianapolis 500,” Lanigan stated. “His previous wins at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway demonstrate his ability to succeed, and his experience will greatly contribute to our overall program. We are particularly excited to have the globally-recognized company AMADA join us in this venture, after our initial collaboration in 2023.”
