Chip Ganassi Racing has enlisted Root as a primary sponsor for its five-car NTT IndyCar Series team. The car insurance company made its first appearance in the series last May on the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing entry driven by Ryan Hunter-Reay and has also been involved in NASCAR with the 23XI Cup entry piloted by Bubba Wallace.
Under the multi-year agreement with Root, the company’s main branding will be prominently displayed “at select races on the No. 11 Honda driven by Marcus Armstrong, the Rookie of the Year for 2023, as well as on the No. 10 Honda driven by reigning two-time champion Alex Palou.”
The debut of a Root-sponsored CGR entry will take place in April at Barber Motorsports Park with Armstrong behind the wheel. This partnership further expands the team’s roster of collaborators.
“We are thrilled to join forces with Chip Ganassi Racing and explore the array of possibilities it offers,” stated Jason Shapiro, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Root. “As a leading tech brand, Root is always seeking partnerships that align with our vision of delivering an enhanced car insurance experience. Chip Ganassi Racing’s culture of triumph and success perfectly complements the success and disruption that Root is bringing to the insurance industry.”
