Felix Rosenqvist is off to a strong start with Meyer Shank Racing in IndyCar, and it seems like this could be his most successful year yet. After spending three inconsistent seasons with Arrow McLaren, Rosenqvist joined MSR alongside fellow Swede Tom Blomqvist. The team has immediately seen improved results, with Rosenqvist topping the timing charts in the first practice session of the year in St. Petersburg. He followed that up with a front row qualifying effort and a seventh place finish in the race. In the exhibition round at the Thermal Club, Rosenqvist earned one of the two pole positions and finished the main race in third place, earning a significant prize of $250,000. These achievements mark a significant improvement for MSR, and Rosenqvist believes that his new partnership will lead to even better results throughout the season. He is proud of the team’s progress and is excited for what the future holds.
MSR has often come close to achieving top finishes in the field, but has struggled to consistently stay at the front. However, this year the team has made some changes to their operations, including team co-owner Mike Shank stepping back from his long-held strategy role. It remains to be seen which change has had the biggest impact, but it is clear that the team, and Rosenqvist’s #60 car in particular, have the potential to have their most successful year in the series.
