Sainz’s future is uncertain after Ferrari chose Lewis Hamilton, leaving the Spaniard in search of a new team.
In a recent episode of the Formula For Success podcast, former F1 team manager Jordan hinted that Lance Stroll’s position might be in danger, despite his father Lawrence owning the team.
Stroll has struggled to keep up with teammate Fernando Alonso, a two-time world champion, who earned 206 of the team’s 280 points last season, placing six positions ahead of the Canadian.
Notably, only Alex Albon of Williams and Nico Hulkenberg of Haas contributed a higher percentage of their team’s points than Alonso.
After Stroll’s mistake at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, discussions about his performance intensified, although he showed resilience by outperforming Alonso in Australia, finishing sixth and earning eight points.
Jordan speculates that Lawrence Stroll might consider replacing his son with Carlos Sainz to create a strong duo with Alonso for 2025.

“Do not be surprised if you see an all-Spanish Aston Martin team next year.
“Keep that in mind where you first heard it.
“Remember that and move on,” Jordan advised listeners, stirring speculation about the team’s future lineup.
However, Alonso’s continuation at Aston Martin beyond this season isn’t certain, as Team Principal Mike Krack plans to offer him a new contract.
Alonso’s decision is crucial, considering the potential opportunities at top teams like Mercedes and Red Bull, especially with Hamilton leaving Mercedes and uncertainties surrounding Max Verstappen at Red Bull.
Despite Aston Martin’s interest in Verstappen, Alonso’s clash with George Russell at Albert Park might hinder his chances at Mercedes, as observed by Martin Brundle.
Thus, staying with Aston Martin could become Alonso’s most viable choice, amidst a landscape of speculation and strategic team decisions that could reshape his career path.
