A spokesperson for the family confirmed on Wednesday that a Munich Labour Court ruling and agreement had been reached with Funke media group, the publishers of Die Aktuelle magazine. The details of the settlement were not disclosed.
Last year, the editor of the magazine was dismissed, and Funke media group issued an apology to Schumacher’s family.
Schumacher, the renowned Ferrari driver who is now 55 years old, has not made any public appearances since suffering a severe brain injury in a skiing accident during a family vacation in the French Alps in December 2013.
The family of Schumacher maintains a strict policy of privacy regarding his condition, allowing only those closest to him to have access.
In April 2023, Die Aktuelle featured a front cover with a photo of Schumacher smiling, accompanied by the headline “Michael Schumacher, the first interview.” However, it was later revealed that the quotes inside the magazine were generated by artificial intelligence, despite appearing authentic.
