Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville has emerged as a potential target for Aston Villa.
Responding to the speculation surrounding a move to the West Midlands club, the 22-year-old has expressed his appreciation for the interest from top Premier League teams. However, he remains focused on his current responsibilities and refuses to be swayed by any transfer rumors.
During an interview with Voetbal Primeur, Summerville stated: “I come across a few things now and then when friends and family send me articles. Personally, I don’t pay too much attention to it. I’m the type of person who works hard first and only looks at it later.”
“When I have discussions with my agents, I hear bits and pieces. It’s nice to hear because it shows that I’m on the right path and things are going well. But for now, my main focus is on achieving our goal, which is to bring Leeds back to where they belong – the Premier League. In the meantime, I don’t want anything to distract me.”
Summerville has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 16 goals thus far.
The Dutchman will be aiming to guide Leeds back to the Premier League by the end of the campaign.
While Leeds ideally want to retain him for the long term, they may struggle to prevent his departure if a Premier League club presents an enticing offer.
Aston Villa could benefit from additional quality and goal-scoring ability in wide areas, making the 22-year-old a valuable prospect for the future.
Currently vying for European qualification, Villa requires greater depth and quality in order to compete consistently in European competitions.
