The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) Apex events typically do not feature many fighters ranked in the top positions. However, there were a few changes in the rankings following last week’s event.
UFC Fight Night 236 was headlined by a middleweight fight between Jack Hermansson and Joe Pyfer. Hermansson, who held the No. 15 spot before the event, maintained his position after defeating the unranked Pyfer.
On the undercard, Gregory Rodrigues delivered an impressive performance by stopping Brad Tavares in the third round. Rodrigues, also known as “Robocop,” earns an honorable mention in this week’s update.
In the strawweight division, Loma Lookboonmee secured a victory against Bruna Brasil, allowing her to rise from the honorable mentions and claim the No. 15 spot.
Take a look at the latest pound-for-pound and divisional rankings provided by USA TODAY Sports.
The rankings consider a fighter’s win-loss record, the quality of their opponents, their finishing rate and dominance, as well as the frequency of their fights.
Fighters who have been inactive for 24 months due to injuries, drug or conduct suspensions, contract disputes, or self-imposed breaks are no longer eligible to be ranked.
However, fighters serving drug or conduct suspensions can still be ranked as long as they do not remain inactive for more than 24 months.
Fighters who compete in catchweight fights or fights outside their primary weight class may have a positive or negative impact on their ranking. Nonetheless, non-titleholders can only be ranked in one weight class at a time. In most cases, they will not be ranked in a new weight class until they have their first fight in that weight category.
