Max Verstappen, the McLaren F1 driver, has become a popular topic of conversation after winning his first F1 Grand Prix. Many respected individuals have praised him, and Red Bulls has also commended the young British driver. In the thrilling Miami GP, Verstappen and Norris engaged in a fierce battle for the victory. Although Norris was unable to overtake him, Verstappen did not hesitate to applaud the Brit for his outstanding performance.
The 24-year-old triumphed in the Miami GP, finishing over seven seconds ahead of Verstappen. “I’m very happy for Lando, it’s been a long time coming, and it’s not gonna be his last one,” Verstappen expressed his congratulations to the newest member of the Grand Prix Winners’ Club. Norris has been competing in F1 since 2019 and has fought hard on the grid in recent years. His well-deserved win in the Grand Prix is a testament to his perseverance and dedication. Verstappen acknowledged Norris’ patience and determination in securing his maiden victory during an interview.
While Verstappen praised Norris for his achievement, he also discussed his own performance in Miami. Despite finishing in second place, Verstappen believes it was not a bad result considering the circumstances of the 57-lap race. He acknowledged that the competition was challenging, especially when the opponents switched to the hard tires and gained speed. Verstappen remains the leader in the 2024 Driver’s Championship by a significant margin.
“You win, you lose, we are all used to that in racing. Today was just tricky, even on the mediums we weren’t pulling away. Once they switched onto the hard tyre, they were flying. If a bad day is P2, I take it,” Verstappen commented on his second-place finish. The Dutchman is not overly disappointed with his performance at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. He understands the capabilities of Red Bulls RB20 and remains focused on the remaining 18 events in the ongoing campaign.
