ANAHEIM, Calif. – Michael Chandler is desperate for a matchup against Conor McGregor, to the point where he’s practically begging for it.
Following Saturday’s UFC 298 at Honda Center, WWE Monday Night RAW took place in the same venue. Chandler (23-8 MMA, 18-5 UFC) not only had a prominent role on the broadcast, but he also took the opportunity to deliver an intense promo. “What’s up, Anaheim? You are now in the presence of the most captivating UFC fighter in the world,” Chandler shouted into the microphone, his face growing increasingly flushed. “Hey, there’s a guy from Ireland who’s been keeping me waiting for far too long, and I can’t get him out of my mind. Conor McGregor, get yourself back in the octagon. We have unfinished business, my friends. God bless. I’ll see you at the top.”
Chandler has been patiently waiting for over a year for a potential fight with McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), who has been on hiatus since suffering a broken leg in 2021.

Since the merger of WWE and UFC under the TKO banner in 2023, there hasn’t been much crossover content like Chandler’s callout, aside from occasional advertisements and spectator appearances.
As for a potential showdown between Chandler and McGregor, it remains uncertain when or if it will happen.
UFC CEO Dana White recently expressed his hope that the fight could take place in the fall, but he also admitted on Saturday that he’s unsure if it will come to fruition.
“I don’t know. Conor McGregor has a lot of money,” White said. “Any time we can get Conor, we’ll be happy. You know, we’ll be thrilled when he comes and fights,” White added. “Money complicates things. He just finished filming a movie. He has press obligations for the movie, and he’s tied up with that. He does want to fight this year, but we’ll see what happens.”
