The FIA World Endurance Championship’s pre-season testing event, known as the Prologue, has been postponed by two days due to shipping difficulties in the Middle East.
Originally scheduled for this Saturday, February 24th, and Sunday, February 25th at the Qatar Lusail International Circuit, the Prologue will now take place on Monday, February 26th and Tuesday, February 27th.
The delay is a result of the WEC’s reliance on shipping rather than air freight to transport its equipment, including several cars, to the circuit. The ongoing issues in the Suez Canal and Red Sea region have caused delays in the arrival of the necessary freight.
The revised Prologue schedule will begin with a morning session on Monday, starting at 8:30am local time and running until 12pm. Following a two-hour break, another session will take place from 2pm to 5pm. A night-time running session will then occur from 6:30pm to 10pm. The final session will be held on Tuesday, running from 9am to 1pm.
Despite the Prologue delay, the schedule for the Qatar 1812km race remains unchanged. The race is still set to begin on Saturday, March 2nd at 11am local time.
