Williams has unveiled the design for its 2024 car during a season launch event in New York City. The event took place at the Puma flagship store on 5th Avenue, with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant in attendance. Puma has become an official partner of the team, providing teamwear, driver clothing, and apparel. The livery, which pays homage to the team’s British heritage with a red and white pinstripe, was revealed through a global live stream. However, the actual car, FW46, was not on display. Williams plans to debut the car during a filming day in Bahrain on February 20, just before pre-season testing begins.
During the launch event, Williams also announced a new partnership with Komatsu, a Japanese industrial equipment manufacturer. This collaboration marks Komatsu’s return to working with the team, as they were partners in the 1990s. Team principal James Vowles expressed his excitement about unveiling the 2024 livery in such an iconic location like New York City. He highlighted the team’s dedication to developing the FW46 and praised the driver line-up of Alex and Logan for their potential to consistently score points and contribute to future development. Vowles acknowledged the challenges the team has overcome and the progress they have made, finishing seventh in the constructors’ championship last season. He emphasized the team’s commitment to strengthening both on-track performance and off-track infrastructure, investing in their people, and attracting new partners like Komatsu. Vowles acknowledged that there is still a long way to go, but he is confident that with the support of fans, partners, and everyone at Grove HQ, Williams will achieve success in the years to come.
