The launch season for the 2024 Formula 1 is currently underway, but it can be challenging to keep track of which teams have unveiled their cars. This is because some teams only reveal the design of their cars, while others introduce new cars through test drives before official launches. Additionally, some teams only showcase their cars shortly before pre-season testing. Here is a recap of all the launches and reveals that have taken place so far in 2024:
McLaren surprised everyone on January 16 by unveiling the livery of their MCL38 car, which they hope will contribute to their progress in the F1 championship this year. On February 14, McLaren will release computer-generated images of their 2024 F1 car, coinciding with Mercedes’ launch of their W15. This will be the final Mercedes F1 car that Lewis Hamilton will drive before moving to Ferrari.
Haas was the first team to actually showcase their 2024 F1 car, the VF-24. Although the appearance of the car may change when it arrives in Bahrain for pre-season testing, it has already provided some early indications of the modifications made. Further insights will be gained through shakedowns on February 11 at Silverstone and on February 19 in Bahrain.
Williams will hold their “season launch” on February 5 in New York. It is expected that they will only reveal the design of their car, with the actual car being unveiled at a later date. In previous years, the new Williams car has made its debut during a shakedown at Silverstone, but it remains uncertain if this will be the case in 2024.
The Sauber-run Stake F1 team will unveil their C44 at a launch event in the UK on the evening of February 5. This car will be the second-to-last model before Audi takes over the entry in 2026.
Alpine has scheduled a launch event for their 2024 F1 car in Enstone on February 7. Red Bull’s second team, RB (Visa Cash App RB), will present their first car of the new era on February 8 in Las Vegas.
Aston Martin will kick off the final week of 2024 launches by revealing their AMR24 on February 12. Ferrari will follow suit on February 13 with the unveiling of their SF-24. Mercedes will take the covers off their 2024 challenger on February 14, coinciding with McLaren’s presentation of their new car. Finally, Red Bull will bring the 2024 F1 launch season to a close on February 15 with the reveal of their RB20.
