The Corsair, Nautilus, Aviator, and Navigator are all crossovers and SUVs, which has become a major issue for some people. Despite the dominance of high riders in the automotive industry, there are still individuals who value traditional passenger cars and their place in a car manufacturer’s lineup. Toyota, for instance, outsold Ford in the United States last year because it continues to prioritize the sedan format. Unfortunately, Ford and Lincoln no longer offer any four-door models in their range, at least in the real world.
However, in the realm of digital car content creators, there are those who refuse to accept that FoMoCo has moved on from sedans and other passenger cars. One such individual is Jim, a virtual artist known as jlord8 on social media, who enjoys experimenting with CGI designs from GM and Ford. He constantly questions whether Ford (or GM) should bring back some of the most beloved passenger car nameplates. Recently, he has been focused on reviving the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder, and the Ford Taurus SHO. If you missed these designs, don’t worry; we have compiled them in the accompanying gallery for your viewing pleasure.
Now, Jim has turned his attention to reviving Lincoln models. He has imagined a modern version of the Lincoln Town Car, combining the Zephyr styling with the classic limousine elements of the timeless Mercedes-Benz S-Class. This concept aims to recreate the essence of American land yachts in a contemporary setting. The Town Car, originally a flagship grade of the Lincoln Continental, evolved into its own line of full-size luxury sedans produced from 1981 to 2011.
Of course, this potential fourth generation of the Town Car is merely wishful thinking. Mercedes-Benz would never collaborate with Ford to give Lincoln the DNA of the S-Class, as the S-Class remains a popular choice in the American market. Nevertheless, it doesn’t hurt to dream about the return of the Town Car, right?
