A new A5 is on the horizon, serving as the successor to the A4 series. Audi recognizes the importance of crossover SUVs in competing with BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that our spy photographers have captured the heavily camouflaged smallest and largest Audi CUVs during their testing and development phase.
To begin, Audi is introducing a brand-new Q3 subcompact luxury crossover SUV to replace its aging second generation. Additionally, Audi is preparing to release the long-awaited Q9 flagship, which will rival BMW’s X7 and Mercedes-Benz’s GLS. Rumor has it that both Audi models will feature a split-headlight design, showcasing Audi’s ability to execute it successfully, without causing much controversy.
In addition to these models, Audi is also working on the successor to the Q5 compact crossover SUV, alongside the Q6 e-tron. While the Q6 has already shed its camouflage, the Q5 is still heavily concealed. This has sparked digital speculation, with virtual artist Larson Design envisioning a plug-in hybrid version of the upcoming Q5. However, based on the spy photos, it appears that Audi will continue with the regular headlight style for the time being.
It is possible that Audi is intentionally misleading us, and the Q5 may still receive the split headlight design. After all, the next Q3 and Q9 both feature this design, and it would be suspicious if Audi deviated from it for other new models. Only time will reveal Audi’s strategy in competing with BMW and Mercedes-Benz. We eagerly await Audi’s upcoming releases throughout the rest of this year and early 2025.
