The week leading up to the Super Bowl is in full swing.
As both the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers diligently prepare for the highly anticipated game, they are also engaged in numerous media sessions and interviews.
During this time of year, players and coaches are often subjected to intense scrutiny from the media, who are eager to uncover the latest scoop and any potential scandals.
Head coach Andy Reid recently found himself confronted with an unusual question from a German reporter, which was captured on video and shared by a Chiefs fan named Dov Kleiman.
The reporter inquired about a supposed “conspiracy” involving Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, suggesting that the Chiefs’ presence in the Super Bowl was merely a strategic move to endorse Joe Biden as the presidential nominee.
Upon hearing this question, Reid simply responded, “That’s beyond my realm of expertise.”
The primary responsibility of Reid, as the head coach, is to guide the Chiefs towards a second consecutive Super Bowl victory.
While engaging with the media is certainly a part of his role, being confronted with such outlandish inquiries was not what Reid anticipated during Super Bowl week.
Although this conspiracy theory may only be held by a small number of individuals, the fact that Reid was asked about it on a national platform only serves to amplify its visibility.
It remains to be seen whether there will be any further repercussions from this question, and whether the reporter in question will maintain access to the coaches and players throughout the week.
