The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be on the rise once again as they entered the All-Star break victorious in seven out of their last ten games.
The Lakers have found their groove since making changes to the starting lineup, going back to the group that started most of the games during the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
However, the main reason behind Los Angeles’ recent success has been the performance of Anthony Davis, who would receive more recognition as a potential MVP candidate if the team had a better record.
Davis did earn his ninth All-Star selection and is currently in Indianapolis, prepared to lead the Western Conference against the Eastern Conference.
During his media availability at the All-Star event, Davis was asked which player he would have loved to play with the most, and he chose Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, as shared by the team’s official Twitter account.

Davis had the opportunity to team up with Bryant during the 2012 Olympics in London, but he still selected the Lakers’ iconic figure as his preferred hypothetical teammate.
A combination of Davis and Bryant would strike fear in the NBA, as they would form one of the most formidable two-way tandems.
Bryant was familiar with playing alongside star big men and would have been a natural fit alongside someone like Davis.
While the two will never have the chance to play together again, Davis is paying tribute to the Black Mamba’s legacy by helping guide the purple and gold towards another potential championship.
