Buffalo Bills Hire Joe Brady as Offensive Coordinator for 2024 NFL Season
The Buffalo Bills have officially hired Joe Brady as their offensive coordinator for the upcoming 2024 NFL season. This move comes after Brady served as the team’s interim offensive coordinator. However, with Brady taking on the coordinator role, the position of quarterbacks coach needed to be filled.
On February 7, the Bills announced that they have hired Ronald Curry to fill the vacant quarterbacks coach position. Curry, who spent the last eight years with the New Orleans Saints, will now work closely with Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Curry’s extensive experience as both a player and coach makes him a fascinating addition to the Bills’ coaching staff.
Curry had a successful college career as a quarterback at the University of North Carolina, where he even broke the passing yardage record. After being drafted by the Raiders in the 2002 NFL draft, Curry transitioned to the wide receiver position. During his seven seasons with the Raiders, he made 193 receptions for 2,347 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Curry began his coaching career as an offensive assistant for the San Francisco 49ers in 2014. He then moved on to the New Orleans Saints, where he worked his way up from receivers coach to quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator between 2021 and 2023. With his solid background in both the passing and receiving aspects of the game, Curry is highly regarded by players and around the league.
Although Curry is an outside hire, he is familiar with Joe Brady. The two previously worked together under Saints head coach Sean Payton when Brady was an offensive assistant in 2017 and 2018.
It is worth noting that Josh Allen has a history of helping his former coaches advance in their careers. His former offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll, became the head coach of the New York Giants in 2022. Additionally, Ken Dorsey, who was Allen’s quarterbacks coach, was promoted to offensive coordinator before being fired by the Bills and joining the Cleveland Browns in the same position.
Brady’s appointment as the Bills’ offensive coordinator is another example of Allen’s influence on his coaches. Although Curry was offered the opportunity to remain with the Saints as their quarterbacks coach, he opted for a fresh start after they hired Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator for the upcoming season.

In a stunning move, the Buffalo Bills have made some major changes to their coaching staff. The team announced on Wednesday that they have decided to part ways with their longtime defensive backs coach, John Butler. This decision was reportedly a mutual agreement between the two parties.
But the Bills wasted no time in finding a replacement. Enter Jahmile Addae, a rising star in the coaching world. Addae comes to Buffalo after a successful stint as the University of Georgia’s defensive backs coach. In fact, he played a pivotal role in helping the Bulldogs secure the National Championship in 2021. Addae’s expertise and experience will surely be a valuable asset to the Bills’ defense.
But Addae isn’t the only new addition to the coaching staff. The Bills have also named Christian Taylor as their new defensive quality control coach. Taylor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, having served as the offensive coordinator at William & Mary for the past four seasons. It’s worth noting that Taylor is an alumnus of the school, making this a homecoming of sorts for him.
These coaching changes come at a critical time for the Bills as they look to build upon their recent success. Head coach Sean McDermott is surely hoping that the new hires will help take the team to even greater heights. Only time will tell if these moves pay off, but one thing is for certain – the Bills are not afraid to shake things up in their quest for greatness.
