Carlos Sainz is poised to conclude his four-year stint with the Italian team in Abu Dhabi this December, during which he has achieved two triumphs.
Carlos Sainz has affirmed his unwavering dedication to Ferrari and teammate Charles Leclerc despite his impending departure from the Scuderia at the end of the year in favor of Lewis Hamilton.
The Spaniard is set to wrap up his four-year tenure with the Italian outfit in Abu Dhabi this December, during which he has secured two victories.
However, Ferrari’s high-profile driver switch has left Sainz seemingly isolated, raising concerns that personal interests may overshadow team unity at Maranello.
Yet, speaking at the unveiling of Ferrari’s new SF-24 earlier this week, Sainz dismissed any doubts about his loyalty and pledged his full support to his team and Leclerc if called upon.
“Of course. I’ve always been a team player,” Sainz affirmed.
“Everything I’ve done in Formula 1, I believe I’ve been a great team player, I’ve always been exemplary in that sense as a driver for any team.
“I will definitely assist Charles if I have to, the same way that I expect Charles to assist me if I contend for a World Championship myself too.”
Sainz remains determined to give his utmost and refuses to withhold any effort in his pursuit to conclude his Ferrari chapter on a high note.
“I think the amount of pressure that I will put on myself, on the team and my engineers and everyone involved, I think will be exactly the same,” he asserted.
“The hunger to win races, the hunger to become champions doesn’t change just because of what’s happening in ’25.
“We all have the same goal. We all have the same aspirations this year.
“So I think it’s going to be exactly the same.
“If anything, I can concentrate even more knowing in the present and then focus more on the race by race, ensuring I have the best possible car and feeling underneath me and not having to concentrate so much on development and in the future.”
