Renowned owner of a race team was involved in an incident outside the racetrack last week during the 24 Hours Daytona. He accidentally struck and killed a golden retriever named Lucky in the Motorhome area. The dog belonged to a driver for Forte Racing’s Lamborghini GT3 team in IMSA.
This incident sparked significant controversy during the prestigious endurance event, with conflicting accounts from both parties involved. DeFrancesco’s father even publicly criticized the former NASCAR and current IndyCar team owner. Now, Ganassi has taken to X to issue an apology for the incident. He expressed deep regret for the unfortunate occurrence and announced his intention to make a generous contribution to the Indianapolis Humane Society on behalf of Lucky and the DeFrancesco family. This donation will provide support for other dogs in the city.

He also thanked the race team owner for his contribution to the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
