The production of the large sedan came to an end in December when the final one rolled off the assembly line at the Brampton factory in Canada. The second-generation Chrysler 300 shared its platform with the previous-generation Mercedes E-Class and S-Class, as well as the retired Dodge Charger and Challenger.
The future of the Chrysler 300 remains uncertain, with some speculating that it may make a comeback in a smaller size with electrified or fully electric powertrain options. However, others believe that the model is gone for good. Personally, we hope to see a new sedan from the Auburn Hills company.
While the real world may be filled with uncertainty and sadness regarding the Chrysler 300, the world of imagination paints a different picture. Various digital artists have already envisioned what a new model could look like, using CGI to fill in the gaps. One such artist is Nihar Mazumdar, who recently shared his vision of a potential new sedan from Chrysler on Behance.
Using the previous-generation Chrysler 300 as a starting point, Mazumdar digitally transformed the sedan into a new four-door model. Surprisingly, instead of sticking with the 300 nameplate, he opted for the Imperial, even though there are no visible signs of a liftback design. However, he did introduce the controversial term “EV” (electric vehicle) alongside the Imperial name.
To enhance its appeal, Mazumdar created two different grille designs for the digital rendering. One was inspired by Jeep’s lineup, which is also under the Stellantis umbrella, while the other had a more traditional Chrysler aesthetic. The car features redesigned headlights, a modified bumper, and other subtle changes. Despite the artist’s intentions, it’s clear that the digital rendering is essentially a reimagined Chrysler 300 rather than a true revival of the Imperial.
Hopefully, these CGI renderings will inspire the company to develop a completely new sedan, as both America and the automotive industry as a whole would benefit from more large four-door vehicles. If executed well and equipped with ample power, such a sedan could certainly attract enthusiasts. Would you be among those eagerly awaiting its arrival?
