The Carolina Panthers went above and beyond to acquire their desired player last year.
They traded valuable assets to obtain the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and select Bryce Young.
However, the Alabama standout faced significant challenges in his rookie season, leading some analysts to suggest that he should have been benched for his own protection.
Certainly, the circumstances were less than ideal, as he lacked a talented supporting cast and his coach was fired midway through the season. Nonetheless, Young’s performance left much to be desired.
Nevertheless, Dave Canales, the Panthers’ new head coach, is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him.
During an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Canales described Young as “a player with the right mentality who consistently fought back week after week.”

After extensively studying Young’s game footage, Canales was impressed by his accuracy and believes he can develop a system that maximizes his abilities.
Canales recognizes that Young has the potential to be exceptional but does not expect him to be extraordinary all the time.
With his unique and well-regarded offensive approach, Canales has previously achieved success with struggling quarterbacks.
It is unwise to write off a quarterback after just one season, regardless of how challenging it may have been. Fans are hopeful that Young’s new coach can bring out his full potential.
