The Green Bay Packers are well ahead of schedule in their reconstruction as they managed to reach the NFC Divisional Round in the 2023 NFL Playoffs.
The Packers traded away Aaron Rodgers in the previous offseason and started Jordan Love who appears to be the franchise’s next standout quarterback.
Green Bay came close to upsetting the San Francisco 49ers, but despite falling short, both the team and its supporters should take pride in their accomplishment.
However, the offensive line could use improvement as they struggled to handle pass rushers and protect Jordan Love.
The Packers had anticipated David Bakhtiari to be their starting left tackle, but unfortunately, he underwent another knee surgery that caused him to miss most of the 2023 season.
A recent report suggested that Green Bay would release him, and Bakhtiari responded to the report via his personal Twitter account.
“If I lose my job because of this, I hold you responsible,” Bakhtiari tweeted.
Bakhtiari has had limited playing time since the 2020 season when he tore his ACL, and it has been a challenge for the former All-Pro to return to the field.
Both he and the organization have been frustrated by the numerous setbacks, but they remain hopeful that he will be ready for the start of the 2024 NFL season.
With draft picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, the Packers may consider selecting Bakhtiari’s future replacement, but the intention is to have him as the starter once he is fully recovered.
